KEITH SPACE - Hospitality Consultant

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Keith Space, a Managing Director of Urbana Hotels & Resorts ("UHR"), is a native New Yorker and received his formal education at Bernard Baruch College, City University of New York, in Business Administration and Finance. Prior to joining UHR, Mr. Space worked ten years for the of the original boutique hotel inventor, Ian Schrager Hotels ("ISH"), ultimately serving as Managing Director of their New York City flagship properties, The Royalton Hotel, and The Paramount, directly supervising 700 employees.

Mr. Space started with ISH during its infancy and ultimately became responsible for planning, operations and marketing of the all the hotels in the ISH portfolio, experience that in aggregate provided him with an in-depth understanding to the importance of the design, style, public relations and high service standards which make ISH hotels so popular. It also infused in him an appreciation for the sense of urgency and attention to operational performance detail that made ISH so profitable. In the uniquely competitive boutique industry, these fundamental elements have proven as catalyst for the growth of Urbana Hospitality.

Mr. Space left ISH in 1997 when he and an investor purchased a landmark art deco hotel in the South Beach section of Miami Beach. Following extensive renovation lead by New York's Art Deco Master Interior Designer, Harry Schnaper, and the addition of the award-winning Abbey Dining Room, this boutique gem became the trademark of his talents and ability to turn a nonperforming asset into stylish and profitable luxury boutique hotel. In addition to responsibilities related to UHR lodging investments, in 2007 Mr. Space opened and manages the Angler's Boutique Resort in South Beach, which was named in the New York Times as one of the "53 places to see in 2008". The Angler's has reached critical acclaim winning HotelWorld's "2007 Opening Hotel of the Year," sponsored by Hotel Motel Management Magazine and one of Conde Nast Traveler's Hot Hotels for 2008.

EDUCATION

Mr. Space received his formal education in Business Administration and Finance at Bernard Baruch College, The City University of New York. A dedicated civic leader, Mr. Space sits on the Board of Directors for the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association. Mr. Space also served on the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Hospitality Task Force. He also gives back to budding young hotel professionals by participating in the Academy of Travel and Tourism's Summer Mentor Program and as a guest Lecturer for the Florida International University's Hospitality Program.
